Pluot, otherwise known as the ‘dinosaur fruit’! A cross between a plum and an apricot. This ultra juicy piece of fruit when fully ripe, has variegated colored skin and sweet, glistening flesh. Besides enjoying as a hand fruit, pluots make great chutneys simmered with a little cinnamon, lemon and other savory spices. They have a good acid to sugar balance and a spicy, plum-apricot flavor.
